Bio

Tom Caswell is an Open Education Consultant and founder of Dynamic E-Learning Strategies, Inc. he has consulted for the OpenCourseWare Consortium at MIT, The Open University of Catalonia, and Creative Commons. He is particularly interested in personal learning environments, mobile learning, instructional game design, Open Educational Resources, and micro learning using Twitter. His other professional experiences include High School teaching, software project management, web application testing, technical writing, and community-driven projects in internationalization and accessibility. Tom is a PhD student in the Department of Instructional Technology and Learning Sciences at Utah State University. He is researching classroom learning using TwHistory.org, a project focused on creating and sharing online historical reenactments using Twitter.

Blogging

Tom has blogged for Computers.net and also for TechConsumer.com, both consumer electronics blogs. He has blogged about everything from consumer electronics reviews to the eBay/PayPal monopoly. These days his is most interested in Open Education and learning, including Open K-12 learning resources (see OpenK12.org), Personal Learning Environments (PLEs), mobile learning, and educational uses for Twitter. He uses Twitter quite a bit, but if an idea takes more than 140 characters to express you’ll probably find it on his blog.
